Brand Loyalty

Would you buy another mattress from the same brand

I'm about 290 lbs and currently on a Big Fig that's 3 years old. It's held up okay but there's a slight dip where I sleep. I'm starting to wonder if I'd buy from them again or try something else. What's your experience, would you repurchase from the same brand, or did you switch? I'm mostly interested in durability for heavier folks, not just initial comfort.

I had a similar experience with a different brand. My first mattress started sagging after two years, but The company replaced it under warranty. The replacement has been solid for four years now. So I'd probably buy from them again because they stood behind the product, even if the first one had issues ngl.

I wouldn't. We bought a Sealy posturepedic and it didn't last two years before indentations. They prorated the warranty so we got almost nothing. Switched to a local factory brand and it's been better.

290 here too. I'm on my second Big Fig. First one lasted about 5 years before a noticeable dip. They gave me a discount on the new one. I think for the price it's still one of the better options for heavy sleepers, but I wish it lasted longer. Not sure if I'd go for a third, might try something with a higher density foam next time.

Brand loyalty is overrated. Every compny has good and bad models. I'd rather focus on the specific materials and coil gauge than the name on the label.

I've had my Brooklyn Bedding Spartan for 4 years, no issues. I'd buy from them again. But I'm only 220 lbs, so maybe not the same durability concern.

mattress_nerd77

To add to my earlier point, the replacement process was a hassle but they didn't give me a hard time. That matters. If a brand makes it right, I'm more likely to return.

frugal_sleeper

I think it depends on how long you expect a mattress to last. If you're okay replacing every 5 years, then maybe staying with a brand you know is fine. But if you want 10 years, you might need to look at latex or something else entirely

tired_mom_of3

frugal_sleeper, that's a good point. We spent more on the local brand but it's held up better, so long run it might be cheaper.

Has anyone tried the Titan? I've heard it's comparable to Big Fig but a bit firmer. Wondering if it's worth switching.

quietstorm_42

I've looked at Titan but haven't pulled the trigger. The reviews are mixed for heavier people. Some say it's greatt, others say it softens up quickly.

cranky_old_bear

I tried Titan. It was too firm for me, but I'm a side sleeper. If you're a back sleeper it might work. I ended up returning it and went back to my old brand, actually.

sleepless_in_seattle

Returning a mattress is such a pain. That's anOther factor—if a brand makes returns easy, I'm more likely to give them another shot.

mattress_nerd77

Absolutely. I've had good experiences with brands that have generous trial periods. Even if the mattress doesn't work out, at least you're not stuck.

frugal_sleeper

I think the key is to check the warranty terms carefully. Some brands prorate, some don't. A brand that stands behind their product for 10 years without prorating is worth considering for a repeat purchase.
